Terms and Conditions of Use & Service
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this website or engaging our engineering services. These rules protect both our business operations and your legal rights as a client.
1. Consumer Rights & Amendments
These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights under UK or EU consumer protection legislation. If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or a member state of the European Union, you may be entitled to additional rights and remedies under applicable consumer laws. You are encouraged to consult your local Citizens Advice service for further information.
Wells Electronics Ltd reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any changes will become effective immediately upon being published on this website. Continued use of the website or our services after such changes have been made will be deemed as acceptance of those amendments. You are advised to review these Terms periodically to ensure you are aware of the current provisions.
2. Payment Terms & "No Refund" Policy
Strict "Recollect & Fix" Guarantee
When you commission Wells Electronics Ltd to repair your equipment, you are engaging highly specialised, labour-intensive engineering services. Because engineering time and diagnostics cannot be "returned," we do not issue refunds for completed repair work or diagnostic fees under any circumstances.
In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 regarding the supply of services, if you raise a valid concern regarding the efficacy of a repair, your legal remedy—and our sole obligation—is a Repeat Performance. If the fault persists, we will recollect the unit and perform the necessary remedial engineering to fix the agreed concern at no additional cost to you.
Payment for services rendered must be cleared in full before any equipment is dispatched or released back to the customer, unless alternative B2B credit terms have been agreed in writing prior to the repair commencing.
3. Service Limitations & Diagnostic Fees
Wells Electronics Ltd offers free standard diagnostics for most repairs. However, for complex systems (e.g., high-value 3-Chip DLP cinema systems or bespoke electronics), we reserve the right to apply an advanced diagnostic bench fee. If applicable, this fee will be disclosed to you and agreed upon in advance.
Initial estimates provided via email or telephone are based solely on your description of the fault. If, upon physical inspection at our workshop, further internal issues are discovered, we reserve the right to revise the estimate accordingly. You will be contacted to approve any amended quotation before further engineering work is undertaken.
4. Repair Completion & Uncollected Goods
Once we have completed the repair of your equipment and notified you via email or telephone that it is ready for collection or delivery, you will have 90 calendar days to settle the invoice and arrange collection/delivery. If payment is not received within this period, you must contact us in writing explaining the delay and specifying when payment is expected.
If you provide a valid reason, an extension of up to 30 additional days may be granted at our absolute discretion, bringing the maximum holding period to 120 days from the date of the final invoice.
Disposal of Goods: Should your equipment remain uncollected beyond 120 days, and no written agreement is in place, Wells Electronics Ltd reserves the right to dispose of the item to recover storage and engineering costs without further notice to you. Disposal may include environmentally responsible recycling, breaking for parts, or permanent scrapping. We do not offer long-term storage services.
Unrepairable Items: If a device is deemed beyond economical repair, or if you decline to proceed after receiving an estimate, we will retain the unit for a maximum of 90 calendar days. After this period, it may be disposed of appropriately unless prior return arrangements have been made.
5. Repair Guarantee (Workmanship Warranty)
Repairs carried out by Wells Electronics Ltd are covered by a 90-day workmanship guarantee from the date of collection or delivery. This guarantee applies exclusively to the specific fault(s) addressed and components replaced during the repair.
This guarantee does not extend to:
- Unrelated or new faults that may arise after repair;
- Units that have suffered transport damage due to customer-arranged courier networks;
- Devices that have been tampered with, opened, misused, or physically damaged after leaving our facility.
If the exact same fault recurs within the guarantee period, we will enact our Recollect & Fix protocol to reassess the item and carry out further remedial work free of charge.

10. Force Majeure
Wells Electronics Ltd shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from any cause that is beyond our reasonable control.
